About Dante Blaze:
Scenery: A comfy room, two chair. A reporter from GalNet and a white haired woman sitting across from each other.
Reporter: Hello CMDRs, this is GalNet Documentary Channel, I am Jonny Sky and todays guest is duke of the empire Dante Blaze with me here.
Dante: Thank you for having me, Jonny.
Jonny: Your Grace, let me....
Dante: Please Jonny, its just Dante. No need to be formal.
Jonny: Alright Dante, so tell us about yourself.
Dante: What do you want to know?
Jonny: Let us begin with you rank in the empire. Your title was granted to you not that long ago. Can you tell us your story about that?
Dante: Yes I can. I began my carreer in the empire as a trader. Made some money from mining space rocks. While this went on I flew some missions for the imperial navy. Mostly scientific, charitable or intelligence. This way I worked my way up in our beloved empire.
Jonny: Intelligence? Can you be more specific?
Dante: I could be, but then I would have to kill you and every one else here in this room. We don't want that to happen, do we?
Jonny: laughs Most certainly not. So what is your current agenda?
Dante: Jonny, when you have spent that much time in space, you need goals. I have money. I have power, and I humbly admit I do have a reputation. So what's next if you have all of that? It is time to make a change. It is time to break the rules of the game and set your mark in history.
Jonny: Go on, what do you mean by that?
Dante: You know, the empire is our home. But there are darker sides there, too. Good pilots lost their lives while flying combat missions under the influence of drugs, just to keep their minds focused for a little longer. Others lost their ships and cargo, went into poverty, became slaves. And that after years of loyal service to the empire. Can this be the way we want to go?
Jonny: Oh this sounds very familiar. So you are applying for a political career now?
Dante: Not at all, Jonny. I am no politician. But there are more ways to change the way things are today than going into politics.
Jonny: And that would be?
Dante: Supporting projects that lead to a better future for the empire for example. There are groups out there, that can make a difference. I will be a supporter. Take the prismatic empire for example. These people are fighting to build a better empire. Why not help them?
Jonny: What do you get from that?
Dante: Didn't I just say that? A better future! Thats worth more than everything else.
Jonny: Thank you, Dante.
Dante: My pleasure, Jonny.
Jonny: Good night.
About myself as a player:
I am playing elite for quite some time. I got my fleet worth of 2 billions, unlocked some of the goodies in the game and will not struggle to afford anything until fleet carriers arrive. I am a collector and a perfectionist. And I avoided powerplay for all of my playtime. Until now.
Why powerplay? Players are actively changing the simulation. But changing the color of a system in the systems map is not really rewarding for me. Acutally changing the market on the other hand is. So Aisling Duval is a pretty nice choice for that. Banning drugs and slavery is a strong goal and has a real impact on the game. But I am a private group player. So knowing that drugs and slaves cannot be traded anymore is fine, but not enough reward to me, to take part in powerplay. Yes prismatic shields are awesome and arguably the best powerplay reward and accidentally the reward given by Aisling Duval, but then my play would be four weeks and some millions worth of AD media. Done. What would that be good for? Yep some modules.
The more interesting part of powerplay that my research on that topic yielded were communities. So I looked for a community that is active, has some events and might be big enough to make a change with their power combined. That way I found the PI. And now... there I am. o7
About myself as a person:
I am 32 years old, from Germany, Software Engineer, working as Senior Project Lead in a small software company creating business solutions and I love and dislike discord at the same time. Lovely chat, awful voice support... go TS3.
I am in general more of the silent type, but after the ice is broken... we'll it gets a lot better :)
As hobbies aside from gaming I enjoy a nice book, do roleplay (nowadays pen and paper, Vampire the masquerade ATM), love board games and ride a 1250 Bandit S.
So if there are any questions left, don't hesitate to PN me.
