::THE GUARDIAN OF THE DEEP::

Reaching the seafloor, the team can see nothing but the infinite darkness and currents like the roaring winds in a midnight desert. The floor was made of sand and glittering stones as lights from the submarine craft illuminate the surface. The only life that was down here often had faint bio-luminescent patterns. It was then that something stirred in the sand near a rocky cavern entrance.

::WARNING: LEVIATHAN CLASS ORGANISM DETECTED::

A monstrous creature measuring nearly nighty meters long rose from the seafloor. It's hollow eyes were surrounded by a swarm of articulating mandibles and antenna reached out over the crew, searching for the disturbance. Ten spiny legs tore the sand while two sets of clawed arms reached from under the chin. The creature was covered in glittering armor and the faint illuminations of the deep. A screech of pure terror echoed through the silence of the abyss, filling all who could hear it with horror.

The monster continued to screech wildly, its armor now opening to show a brilliant pair of multicolored wings. Patterns on the wings swam with colors and lights in a most brilliant display.

The patterns on the wings of the creature appear mystical and mesmerizing. Celestial Whispering...

The creature retracts the wings and armor before slowly drifting to a defensive position in front of a cavern, clearly guarding it from entry.

The creature is majestic to behold, but as it is not categorized, there was a good chance that this creature is undiscovered.

ABILITIES

The creature screeches loudly, the sound traveling through the silent abyss. It then grapples lose rock from the cavern mouth and throws it at the submersibles.

At an imposing 87 meters long, this was by far the largest sea creature any of them had ever seen.

With the squad split, the creature pauses the rock throwing and opens its armor to allow brilliant wings to expand again. The display is greatly mesmerizing.

The creature lets out a great screech as a pattern of fire ripples on on of the brilliant wings.

Celestial Whispering

*Most of the hits from Delgado's crew seem ineffective for penetrating the strong armor of the creature, but one hit strikes the back of one of the armor pieces that had opened to allow the wings to unfold. Unfortunately, one of the submersibles from Delgado's squad approached the face of the creature with no intention of firing or dodging attacks. The creature took sudden hold of the sub with four arms, drawing it to the mandibles. It began to chew with intense speed.

The wings of the creature retracted and the armor sealed again on its body. A damaged armor plate fails to retract fully*

*TTMJ destroys the damaged armor plate. It falls to the seafloor.

The creature lets out a terrible screech as the armor plates extend again. The wings unfold and let out a mesmerizing display of colors, this time far stronger than before.*

"Come here to me..."*

Techeron sees right through the projection and recognizes that the creature is fully occupied with the wing display and open to attacks.

With the armor open and soft bits exposed, Allan's hydro-flachettes strike the creature under the armor. It lets out a great scream that interrupts the hallucinations.

With the wings still extended, the creature now focuses on creating patterns again. They are highly effective.

The hallucinations come to a sudden end as the creature screeches with a deafening sound, another of its wings displaying a bright pattern of fire.

Screeching intensifies as another armor plate from its body falls onto the seafloor.

Retracting the wings, it does another territorial dance at the mouth of the cave.

The combined attacks continue to hit a poorly armored area on the body of the creature, destroying wings and spilling orange blood into the abyss. Parts of the creature implode as it screeches in pain. It retracts its eyes into its face before extending mandibles in a strange star-like formation. The face flips backward, revealing four additional eyes and a new mouth of terrifying teeth that had been hiding behind a snout-like face. The creature shows its new form with a mouth that could swallow a sub whole. To make matters worse, a new protruding jaw structure could now extend a dozen meters, bringing with it a set of arms that could grab a sub that gets too close.

*The creature extends several large pieces of armor, making it appear much larger than it really was. It also funnels the attention on the face.

Allan successfully destroys some of the mandibles but it does not interfere with the new terrifying face and rows of armor cutting teeth that are now exposed.*

With lightening reflexes, the jaw on the creature lunges forward, allowing the first set of arms to take hold of one of the Delgado Crew's subs, quickly pulling it into the face for devouring. The action was so quick that it ripples the water with a sonic boom. The sub is instantly crushed in its mouth as parts of the sub explode and scatter, the canopy imploded among rows of teeth.

The combined shots against the creature does well to destroy much of the creature, its abdomen imploding and armor pieces falling off. The ocean floor is a cloud of orange blood but the creature remains in position, as though it was ready to self destruct in a final attempt to eliminate its attackers.

The creature ignores the destruction of its own body to funnel out a great display to the squad, complete with brilliant lights and patterns. It funnels off of the subs toward its face full of teeth.

*It moves its ten legs around to position itself over the entire squad who are mesmerized by the performance, guiding all of them toward its mouth for a self destructive feast, ready to perish there after.

The bright flash of light blinds the creature and it lets out a great screech as it falls over and onto its face, exposing the damaged backside.*

The creature lets out a terrible sound as its body implodes. The wings grow dark, killing the performance. The creatures only movements now are the drifting of deep sea currents. It is now a collection of legs and arms and an imploded body in a cloud of orange blood. It has perished.

The primary mandible covered face of the creature explodes as the body drifts lower into the sand, exposing the entrance to its lair, the cavern entrance Delgado had determined to be the location of the treasure he was looking for.
